Patrick Woodman, DO, MS is a physician-educator from Indianapolis, Indiana. He was trained at the University of Michigan and Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. In 2001, he became the first graduate of the US Army’s board-accredited fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery (Urogynecology), at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. After four years, and several teaching awards, as a faculty member of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and serving his country as an Army surgeon, Dr. Woodman became Assistant Director of Indiana University’s Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery (Urogynecology) Fellowship program in July of 2005, where he became an Associate Clinical Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology. In September of 2012, he became a charter member of the Marian University College of Osetopathic Medicine’s faculty, where he served as Associate Professor and Chairman of Specialty Care.

Dr. Woodman is an expert in the vaginal approach to reconstructive surgery, as well as offering a broad set of laparoscopic and abdominal choices. Dr. Woodman is double-board certified and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians & Gynecologists (Distinguished). He chairs the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology’s subcommittee on Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery, and was pivotal in the development of their subspecialty examination. He is chair of the Postgraduate Evaluation and Standards Committee, and a member of various other committees for the ACOOG. He has been a member of the International Continence Society since 1999, and sits on the prestigious ICS Education Committee. He is also member of the American Urogynecology Society, the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons, and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics.

Dr. Woodman has published more than 40 scientific journal articles, book chapters, videos and research abstracts. He is an active expert referee for 9 scientific journals, and is on the Editorial Boards of Ob.Gyn.News and the JAOA.

In addition to practicing at the Providence Pelvic Health Center, Dr. Woodman currently serves as the Residency Program Director for the St. John Macomb - Oakland Obstetrics and Gynecology Program.
